Miss Carol Ann Libby, mother of Wesley Lanning Libby and Ethan Matthew Libby went home to be with the Lord on January 13, 2024.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Westover Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. J. Andrew Menger officiating.
She is at peace and finally understands all of those things she had difficulty with on Earth. The most important people in her life were her sons who were raised in the church. They were her pride and joy.
Carol was born to Donald and Orel Libby in Syracuse, New York. Her family moved to Augusta, Georgia in 1959. She graduated from the Academy of Richmond County, University Hospital School of Nursing and the University of South Carolina in Columbia. Carol was a Certified Occupational Health Specialist and worked most of her life in occupational health positions, most recently with Monsanto/Elanco. She loved the people she worked with and felt privileged to work with every day heroes. Carol also worked in operating rooms in many different cities including Augusta, Columbia South Carolina, Houston Texas, Boulder Colorado and Sedalia Missouri.
Carol was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd and loved her church family. She was a volunteer for Interfaith Hospitality Network/Family Promise. She loved gardening, needlework and her many animals that were part of the family over the years.
In addition to her sons, Carol is survived by her brother, Charles Libby; nephews, Tye and Joel Libby; and nieces, Sarah and Katie Libby.
If so desired, memorials may be made to That’s What Friends Are For, a charity helping animals in the CSRA at www.thatswhatfriendsarefor.org.
