Brian Andrew Dowling

Brian Andrew Dowling, 85, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026 surrounded by those he loved dearly.

Brian Andrew Dowling survived by his 3 sons, Gerry, Matthew, Tommy, and his 8 grandchildren.

He was married to Linda Ann Dowling who surpassed him on February 14, 2016. He grew up in Hollis Queens NY, then later moved to Westberry NY.

Brian grew up as the eldest son in an Irish Catholic family with his parents John and Elizabeth Dowling and his siblings Valerie, Kerry, Dennis and Donna. On September 7, 1969, he married his wife Linda and started their family. Eventually they moved to Selden NY and raised their children and lived there for 41 years. It was at the Selden address where Brian’s fun nature shined as he and Linda hosted many backyard pool party BBQs, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Years Eve parties. 

The sound of the whiskey sour shaking in the background while saying what our family and extended family have dub “Brianisms” will forever echo through our memory’s. Brian was also known as a dedicated hard worker and worked full-time until he was 81. In the last 4 years of his life, his memory faded and was taken care of by his son Matthew and his wife Katie. Even though his memory faded, whenever he was asked who his Lord and Savior is, he always answered Jesus. Until we see you again Pop, we love you and are happy you made it home.
