Braxton Leslie Roberts, Jr., beloved husband of Sandra Lee Roberts, entered into rest on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at his residence.
The family invites friends to a graveside service at 2:30 PM on Sunday, September 6, 2026 at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pastor Alex Gonzalez will officiate. The Air Force will render military honors.
Born in Mount Vernon, Missouri, Les loved the outdoors and loved life. Les was a visionary, he saw the good and potential in every person and every situation. He was always the one to encourage others with, "You can do it. You can make it happen with Jesus." At the age of 18, he went to church with a friend simply for something to do. That night, he asked Jesus to forgive him and come into his life. He was saved and changed forever. From that moment on, he sought to know more about Jesus and to serve Him.
Les pastored churches for 60 years. Over those 60 years, he led 6 church building programs. He also served in the Air Force for 8 years on active duty and 20 years in the active reserves. In 1989, he received the Chaplain of the Year Award for the Air Force Reserves.
The most important person in his life, after Jesus, was Sandra. They were married for 63 years. Together, the Lord blessed them with three wonderful children, Kinya, Braxton, and Sonya, 10 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Les spent countless hours praying for each member of his family. Each night, he would pause in front of our family picture wall, touching each picture and praying.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sonya Lynette Weese.
May you know Jesus and be blessed by following Him.
