Bobbie D Winkler, beloved wife of David Winkler, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025.

The family invites friends for a celebration of life at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Platt's Funeral Home, Belair Road Chapel. They will be receiving friends for one hour prior to the service.

Bobbie was born in Oklahoma to Eddley and Margaret Dunn. She was a devoted mother to her family and loving wife to a career military husband who adored her. She was married to the love of her life (Retired Major David E Winkler) for 63 wonderful years. She supported him every step of the way in his military Air Force career all while raising 2 children, Mark Winkler and Sheri Wise.

Her wonderful husband David actually talked her into getting her pilots license and she loved every minute of flying small planes. She even took Mark and Sheri up individually in the plane for them to experience it first hand. She was so excited about it.

She was on several bowling leagues early in their marriage and was very good. She won several trophies for perfect score bowling games.

She loved to dance with her husband, David, and they were the perfect dance partners for each other. Every where they went dancing they always received compliments of how graceful there were on the floor. They even won a local dance contest right here in the CSRA during a hockey game intermission!

She was also very good with numbers and became a tax preparer for H&R Block and later became an enrolled agent for them. She worked for H&R Block for 25 years before retiring.

She had some health challenges in life and became an ovarian cancer survivor in 2002. She went through treatments, struggled with the effects of it but still managed to conquer the disease and become cancer free for over 25 years. How? She knew the Lord had her here for a purpose for all those years after treatments and she made sure to encourage others around her. She was a loyal member of her church no matter where David’s duty station was, she made sure to get her children involved as well.

She is survived by her son Mark Winkler (Angela), her daughter Sheri Wise (John), her grandchildren Christian Winkler and Nathan Winkler. Preceded by her husband Retired Major David E Winkler, her 3 siblings Kenneth Dunn, Robert Dunn and Stephen Dunn as well as her parents Eddley Dunn and Margaret Dunn.

We would like to also thank Camilla Walk of Evans Ga and Pruitt Health of North Augusta SC for the care and attention they provided to our mother these last couple of years.

Lord, you gave us our parents and now they are with you! We miss them dearly and know we will see them again one day.
