Betty Jean Reeder Lariscy Ley, 91, entered into rest on February 12, 2024 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at St. Mark Methodist Church with Rev. Thurman Norville, Jr. and Chaplain Robert Taylor officiating. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Lariscy Ley was born on September 6, 1932 in Augusta, Georgia and graduated from Tubman High School. She was a member of St. Mark Methodist Church and a member of the Jane Wells Sunday School Class. Mrs. Lariscy Ley retired from the Medical College of Georgia where she worked as a Cytotechnologist. She also loved volunteering with the CSRA Parkinson’s Support Group. Mrs. Ley loved her family and her faith. Over the years, her strong faith encouraged many to come to know Christ.
Mrs. Lariscy Ley is survived by her sons, Stephen Michael Lariscy (Mary Beth) and David Wayne Lariscy (Janet); her siblings, Mary English, John Reeder, Jr. (Revea), Robert Reeder (Jodie) and William Reeder (Delaine); her grandchildren, Preston Lariscy, Angela Hortenstine (Donald), Dianne Taylor (John), Michael Lariscy (Erin) and Christina Cochran (Jake); and her ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion P. Lariscy; her parents, John Reeder, Sr. and Margaret Morris Reeder; and her grandson, Ryan Lariscy.
The family would like to give special thanks to Mrs. Lariscy Ley’s caregivers with Caring From the Heart of Georgia who she affectionately called “her girls”.
Pallbearers will be Michael Lariscy, Preston Lariscy, Donald Hortenstine, John Taylor, Andrew Hortenstine and Eric Peterson.
