Barry went on to serve his country with honor and distinction in the United States Army. Rising to the rank of Master Sergeant, he bravely served during the Vietnam War. Throughout his military career, Barry was the recipient of numerous commendations, including the Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Bronze Star Medal, and the Meritorious Service Medal.

His dedication to his fellow soldiers and to his country was unwavering—a reflection of his strength, courage, and deep sense of duty.

On March 14, 1991, Barry married Edith, in Panama City, Panama. Together, they built a home filled with love and laughter. There was never a day Barry wasn’t cracking a joke or sharing a smile—his laughter could fill any room and lift the spirits of everyone around him.
