Barbara Jones Rinker, of Martinez Georgia, passed away on December 2, 2025. She was born on September 26, 1938, in Augusta, Georgia.
Barbara was the wife of the late E. Woodbury Rinker. She is survived by two sons, Rev. George W. Rinker and Frank W. Rinker. Along with her nephews Brian Jones, Charles Lollis, and Sam Malone. Her nieces Lea Ann Lollis, Meagan Jones, and Brittany Meadows. Her cousins Judy Peterson, Elaine Rambo, Andy Williamson, Allen Williamson, Clary Williamson, Jane Kemmerlin, Jean Sikes, Judy Duffie, Joan Moseley, Wallace Moody, Gloria Cunningham, Paul Moody, Katherine Haskell, Robert Moody, and their families. And countless friends that she has had throughout the years.
She was an active member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church of Augusta Georgia where she participated in the life of the congregation and its community programs.
Barbara Rinker is remembered by her family and friends as being very creative, having a very warm and inviting personality. She was involved in her community, committed to her husband Woodbury and her sons Frank and George. She was a ‘true’ friend and was guided lived by her faith in Jesus Christ. Barbara was the type who could make others feel welcomed and valued. She was very artistic and creative. She was a member of the Spade and Trowel Garden club of Augusta and won many awards for her creativity in flower arranging. Her artistic flare was displayed in her paintings in oil, watercolor and china paintings. She was a member of the P.E.O Sisterhood devoted to the funding and scholarship of women’s higher education. Barbara was a leader of youth in the Young Life Fellowship, taught church youth, was a church deacon and sang in the choir. She loved dogs and enjoyed her summers in the Blue Ridge Mountains and her second home in Montreat North Carolina. Barbara has been an inspiration to many and gave of herself constantly with her warmth, colorful personality and bright smile.
A visitation is scheduled for December 7, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Platt's Funeral Home in Augusta, Georgia. A funeral service will follow on December 8, 2025, at 3:00 PM at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church with graveside to follow at Westover Memorial Park.
