Barbara I. Miller, 84, of Waynesboro, Georgia passed away on October 17, 2026.
Born on May 17, 1942, in Augusta, Georgia, Barbara was the daughter of the late Marshall A. Miller, Jr., and Mary (Walker) Miller. She attended Waynesboro High School before earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia in 1964.
Barbara dedicated much of her career to serving others. She spent many years as assistant director of the Richmond County Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) before joining her family’s business, Millers Mill, Inc. After several years assisting with the family business, she went on to work at the District Attorney’s Office in Augusta, where she founded the Victims Assistance Program, leaving a lasting impact on those in need of support.
Outside of her professional life, Barbara found great joy in the outdoors. She enjoyed woodworking, tree farming, and gardening, and she was a devoted University of Georgia football fan. Her passion for tree farming was reflected in her membership in both the American Tree Farm System and the Georgia Tree Farm Program.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, Marshall “Ansel” Miller III.
She is survived by her sister, Marsha Anne Miller; her niece, Barbara Star (Steve); her nephew, Marshall Ansel Miller IV (Andy); and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
