Mrs. Annell Gulledge Canady, wife of the late Calvin Canady, entered into rest on Saturday, March 21, 2026.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Wesley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Barry Clanton officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends the evening prior at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.
Born in Troy, Alabama, Annell was one of eight children born to William and Willie Gulledge. Growing up in a large family, she learned early the importance of love, resilience, and togetherness.
Annell met her beloved husband, Calvin, in Swainsboro, Georgia. Their love blossomed into a lifelong partnership, and together they began raising their family in Savannah. In 1978, they made their home in Augusta, Georgia, where Annell continued to build a life centered on faith and family. She was a dedicated member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
She found her greatest joy in her family, especially her grandchildren. She was actively involved in their lives, always present with encouragement, love, and support. Her steady presence created lasting memories that her family will forever cherish.
She is survived by her children, Karen Barton (Richard) and Kevin Canady (Leigh), her grandchildren, Tyler Stanford, Kyle Stanford and Cord Canady, and her great grandchildren, Eli Stanford and LillyAnna Barton. She is also survived by a sister, Glenda Coleman, her sisters in law, Betty Railey and Eula Mae Gulledge, and her nieces and nephews, Lloyd Gulledge, Tammy Gulledge, Diane Rollins, Angie Connell, Bobby Rogers, Marsha Gulledge, Debbie Gulledge, Donna Gulledge, Tony Coleman, Joey Coleman and Becky Blitchington. Preceding her in death are her parents, William and Willie, her siblings, William Gulledge, Hilton Gulledge, Don Gulledge, Dorman Gulledge, Jeannette Williamson, Lillian Blizzard and her husband, Calvin.
