Alora Wade Bridges

Mrs. Alora Wade Bridges, beloved wife of the late Dr. Henry Benton Bridges, entered into rest on August 23, 2024 at her residence.

 Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Lynn Prather officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the graveside.

 Mrs. Bridges was born in McDuffie County and graduated from Thomson High School. She worked for the VA Hospital until her retirement. Mrs. Bridges was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd and was a master gardener.

 Mrs. Bridges is survived by her children, Henry B. Bridges, Jr. (Kelly) of Augusta, Douglas W. Bridges of Charlotte, Kate B. Ferguson (Mark) of Augusta, Kathleen B. Brown of Augusta and Janet B. Carn (Bill) of Appling; eight grandchildren, Jamie Flakes (Adam), Allie Blume (Matt), Maggie Williams (Bridges), Anna Brown, Clayton Brown, William Burr (Taylor), Tyler Burr and Grace Counts (Tyler); and by her three great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Bridges was preceded in death by her brother, Virgil Louis “Buck” Wade.

 The family would like to thank Enhabit Hospice and Mrs. Bridges’ caregivers, Deen Dunbar and Leon Lewis.
