Albert John Wespy

The family of Albert John Wespy of Evans, Georgia is saddened to announce his passing on July 28th at the age of 89 years. 

 A memorial mass will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 2, 2024 in the day chapel at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 4921 Columbia Road, Grovetown, GA, 30813 with the Rev. Francisco Gamboa serving as celebrant. Inurnment with military honors to follow at the church columbarium. A reception will be held following the inurnment in the Parish Hall.

 Albert John Wespy was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was born in 1935, and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, though he spent over 65 years in Augusta, GA.

 At the age of 21, Albert, enlisted in the Army. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of 1st Sgt. He served the United States in the military for 24 years and as an instructor for the Civil Service for 20 years. He was first stationed at Korea where he met the love of his life, Bong Duk. They were happily married for 67 years. 

Albert is survived by his wife Bong Duk, their children Sue and her husband Mario, Tony and his wife Laurann, and John and his wife Kathy, his grandsons Cameron and Jacob and his 2 great grandchildren. His loved ones will remember his honesty, integrity and dedication to his family. He was a very loving, devoted husband and father. To say he was a good man would be an understatement. He was an extraordinary man who acted like an ordinary one.
