Afiya Nailah Abdu

Miss Afiya Nailah Abdu, beloved daughter of Yaasmeen Smith, entered into rest on Friday, October 31, 2025 at Doctors Hospital.

Afiya was our angel. She was a phenomenal being, kind, loving and absolutely exceptional. When others were suffering, she always reached out to them with a hug, her hand and her heart. Her laugh was infectious, and her smile never failed to light up a room.

Afiya loved being in the water, spending time with her family, music, dancing and creating beautiful art. She was generous and loved to make jewelry and give it to others. Afiya loved butterflies, rainbows, dolphins, and sparkles. These will always make us think of her.

Our angel has now earned her wings; her pain is over. We know she will watch over us from her place in heaven. Her spirit will reside in our hearts forever. We love you baby girl.

She is survived by her Mommy Yaasmeen Smith, Papa John, siblings: Eliel, Nia, & Khasia Abdu, Titi Sharon Ortiz, Tio Anthony Diaz, Tia Lynette Freneire, Cousins Sabrina & Sofie Santiago, and her loving grammy, Martha Torres.
