Mr. William R. “Bill” Griffin
Augusta, GA---Mr. William Richard “Bill” Griffin, 63, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Mr. Bert Dreifuss officiating.
Mr. Griffin was born in Grovetown, GA and attended Richmond County schools. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served in Viet Nam. Mr. Griffin was a self-employed builder, specializing in Home Improvements. He loved fishing, hunting and the outdoors.
Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his parents, DeWitte C. and Emily C. Kent Griffin, three sisters, Betty Jo Moore, Norma Faye Morris and Mary Elizabeth McCalvin and two brothers, Kenneth R. Griffin and Ernest R. Griffin.
He is survived by one brother, James D. Griffin of Augusta, GA, four sisters, Gonnie Eula Ween Stewart of Sandersville, GA, Sara Louise Griffin of Augusta, GA, Mildred Anne Dreifuss of Warner Robins, GA, Brenda Sue Odom of Thomasville, GA and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Platt’s Crawford Avenue.
Those desiring to attend the services are asked to meet, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, GA 30906.
