Mr. William Morgan Polatty, beloved husband of 39 years of Cheryl Newman Polatty, entered into rest on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel with the Rev. William F. Harrell officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Polatty, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Polatty, was a lifelong resident of Columbia County, and 1970 graduate of Evans High School. He was owner of Polatty Realty and co-owner of Secret Eye Antiques. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, who loved life, and loved spending time with his family most of all.
In addition to his wife, Cheryl, he is survived by his children; Carlene Polatty Gaskins (Andrew) and William Bothwell Polatty, his grandchildren; Blakely Elizabeth and Stella Carlene Gaskins, a sister; Barbara Polatty Wahl, and very special family friends; Debra Fitzgerald and David Godbee.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Lynn Wise, Gregory Russell Jones, Robert Lee Grahl, Charlie Eugene Pittman, Charles Darrell Cromer, Brock Anthony Taylor and Brian Jude Konitzer. Honorary pallbearers will be James G. Blanchard, Jr., Joseph E. Blanchard and Calvin Mills Polatty, Jr.
The family will receive friends at the family home at 1606 Jamestown Avenue in Cedar Hill Plantation on Monday, February 4, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
