Martinez, GA---Mrs. Wilhelmina Leonard Fischer, 79, beloved wife of 56 years to the late Mr. Homer E. Fischer Sr., entered the arms of our Lord and Father on December 3, 2014 at her home, surrounded by her children.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 6, 2014, in the Platt's Belair Road Chapel with Rev. Roy McVeigh officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Fischer was a long time member of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Damren Sunday School Class and sang in the adult choir. She was a member of the United Methodist Women's Club. She was a member of Jensen Wymberly Social Club, Heart Association and Diabetes Association. Willie, as she was called by her friends, worked as the manager of the S & H Green Stamp Store until it closed down, she then worked at Riches Department Store, until her retirement.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, 7 brothers and 5 sisters.
Survivors include her 4 children, Deborah Elaine Slicker (Ken) of McDonough, GA, Carol Anne Eubanks (Jeff) of Powder Springs GA, Sherri Lynne Randazzo of Grovetown, GA and Homer Eugene (Gene) Fischer, Jr. (Frances) of Martinez, GA. She has 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, brother, Robert Leonard and sister in law, Martha Leonard, both of Lexington, NC.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, David Slicker, Jeremey Thompson, Brian Eubanks, John Yelton, Patrick Fischer and Garrett Fischer.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Platt’s Belair Road.
