Virginia Avadine Dene Taylor

Augusta, GA – Mrs. Virginia Avadine “Dene” Taylor, 86, beloved wife of the late James L. Taylor, entered into rest on Monday, November 26, 2012 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 30, 2012 at Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with Dr. Gary Redding officiating. Interment to follow in Westover Memorial Park. Following the interment, a reception will be held at the home of Anna and David Avrett, 2559 Walton Way, Augusta, GA, 30904.

Dene was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Augusta. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Dene is survived by her sons, James L. Taylor, Jr. of Warrenville, SC, and Arthur Mark Taylor of Rincon, GA; her brother, Isaac F. “Bud” Holton; her grandchildren, Melantha Morgan, Malissa Taylor, Ben Taylor, Rachel Taylor, Kelley Taylor, Grace Taylor, Joshua Taylor, and Brody Taylor; her 8 great grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Taylor; her sisters-in-law, Mary Holton, and Barbara Callahan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Dene was preceded in death by her son, Paul Taylor, and by her brother, Jimmy Holton.

Dene was also a very special member of the Avrett family. She will be missed dearly by Anna, David, Melissa, Holley, Alex, and Bailey.

Pallbearers will be Alex Avrett, David Avrett, Phillip Holton, Taylor Baynham, David Brinkman, and Jim Gardner.

If so desired memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 12:00 until service time.
