Harlem, GA Tommy L. Spivey, 57, loving husband of Sandra L. Spivey, entered into rest on Saturday, April 30, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Journey Community Church with Pastor Bobby Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Hephzibah City Cemetery. Tommy was full of life and loved the outdoors. He spent his free time golfing, fishing, hunting, and skiing. He enjoyed being on the water and trips to the mountains. He was a long time member of Local 150 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union. Tommy was a partner at Journey Community Church, where he found purpose in serving. He had a heart for serving others and a true passion in generosity. His generosity and love for people is his legacy. Tommy leaves behind family and numerous friends that he loved with all of his heart. He will be greatly missed and always cherished. In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters; Priscilla Testi (Preston), Dawn DeLaigle (Nick), one brother; Jack Spivey (Jean), one sister; Fran Mathis, five grandchildren; Allison Sailas, Lauren King, Ashley King, Madison Meadows, and Buck DeLaigle. Tommy was preceded in death by his son; Thomas Spivey, brother; Rick Spivey, and grandson; Thomas P. Meadows. Pallbearers will be Beauford Fulmer, Mike Smith, Lee Sims, Gary Youngblood, Todd Derrick, and Kevin Simmons. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Local 150. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. If so desired, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2607 Commons Blvd., Augusta, GA, 30909 or the Melanoma Research Foundation, 1411 K Street NW Suite 800 Washington D.C., 20005.
