Mr. Thomas Irvin “Bubba” Gay, Jr.
Aiken, SC---Mr. Thomas Irvin “Bubba” Gay, Jr., 65, entered into rest on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at UniHealth Post Acute Care of Aiken, formerly Maddie C. Hall Nursing Center, Aiken, SC.
Mr. Thomas Irvin “Bubba” Gay, Jr., Graveside services has been rescheduled for 3:00 PM(today) Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Westover Memorial Park with Reverend Robert J. Lehn officiating
Mr. Gay was a native of Augusta, GA and was a graduate of Richmond Academy, Class of 1964 and was a graduate of Augusta Tech. He was a former resident of Lincolnton, GA and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church of Lincolnton. Mr. Gay was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in Viet Nam and received 2 Bronze Stars. He was retired from Georgia Power as an Electrical Technician. Mr. Gay was an avid outdoorsman and Georgia Bulldog fan. He was a loving son, brother, husband and father, he will be greatly missed.
Mr. Gay was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Irvin Gay, Sr. and Gladys E. Williams Gay and by his wife, Donna Jo Napier Gay.
Survivors include his son, Jacob Lee Gay of Aiken, SC, brother, Carswell E. Gay of Augusta, GA, sister, Brenda Gay Applewhite and husband, John of Augusta, GA and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 9, 2011 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Platt’s Crawford Avenue.
