Rebecca "Becky" Lynn Meister

Rebecca Lynn Meister, age 59, of Modoc, South Carolina, passed away on October 15, 2023 after a strong battle with leukemia.

Becky was born on October 30, 1962 to Les and Ellen Smith. She married her true love Larry on January 30, 1982. Becky loved being by the water, at her beautiful home in Modoc Shores, or one of her very favorite places, Hilton Head Island. She also found joy in being with her three children and nine grandchildren. The majority of her time was spent with her best friend and husband, Larry. Together they built a successful business designing and constructing custom homes together. She loved her family and her God so much.

Becky will be remembered by her spicy wit, kindness, and ever-present sense of humor. Becky and Larry went to grade school together in Indiana, dated through high school, and were then high school sweethearts who married. They have had 42 wonderful years together of unfailing love. Becky was a beloved wife, daughter, mother, sister, granny and friend. She will be profoundly missed.

Becky’s pallbearers are six Marines who served with her son Brad. A Marines job is to serve and protect with honor, courage and commitment and it is their honor and privilege to carry Becky to her final resting place.

Becky is survived by her loving husband, Larry Meister, children Mindy Tesch (Joshua), Ashley Watson (Lee), and Brad Meister (Lauren); parents Les and Ellen Smith; siblings Sally Parsley (Bob), Ken Smith (Linda), Richard Smith (Dawn), and John Smith (Lily) and nine grandchildren, Ethan, Evan, Lilly Grace, Maddison, Weston, Izaiah, Ella Lynn, Noah and Marlowe.

The family will receive guests Friday, October 20, 2023 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Platt's Funeral Home, Belair Road Chapel. A service to celebrate Becky's life will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 11:00am at Kiokee Baptist Church.
