Phylliss Marie Mosley

Phylliss Hennen Mosley, loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend to many, went home in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on December 28, 2021.

Phylliss was born on March 15, 1955 to William (Billy) Hennen, Sr. and Marie Denton Hennen. She grew up in the Augusta area and attended Westside High School. Phylliss was married to Samuel Carl Mosley for 36 wonderful years and made their home in Harlem, GA. Their beloved children blessed them with grandchildren who adored their Maw Maw as much as she adored them. Phylliss worked for University Hospital for over 20 years in a clerical position and as a ward secretary. She loved all animals and worked to protect them all, especially the stray cats who seemed to always find her as a beacon of safety.

She is survived by her husband, Carl Mosley, son Jonathan Matthew Taylor, daughter Carla Mosley Gilpin (Jordan), grandchildren Jonathan Taylor, Jr, Kierstin and Brantley Gilpin, mother Marie Denton Hennen, brother William (Hop) Hennen, Jr, sister Lauri Hennen, aunt, Carolyn Faglier (Ron), cousins, nieces and nephews. Phylliss was preceded in death by her father, William Hennen, Sr., baby brother, Michael Dwane Hennen, her maternal grandparents, Will and Maude Denton, and her paternal grandparents, Earl and Jewel (Hennen) Johnson.

Visitation will be held at Platt’s Funeral Home on Belair Road from 6-8 pm on Sunday, January 2, 2022. Funeral service to be held, 12 Noon Monday, January 3, 2022 at Platt’s Funeral Home, a graveside service to follow at West View Cemetery in Augusta. Serving as pallbearers: William Hennen, Jr., Jordan Gilpin, Keith Remkus, Mark Ray, Billy Thibodeau and David Rupert. Memorials may be made to Hands to Paws Rescue, Augusta, GA in lieu of flowers.
