Miriam Blanchard Ashmore

Augusta, GA – Mrs. Miriam Blanchard Ashmore, 85, beloved wife of 65 years of Thomas G. Ashmore, entered into rest on Monday, July 4, 2016 at her residence.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with Rev. Bert Daniel officiating. The family will greet friends from 2:00 PM until service time.

Mrs. Ashmore was a loving, compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a faithful member of Crawford Avenue Baptist Church for over fifty years. After more than forty years of service to the City of Augusta, she continued to serve the community in the court system. She completed her working career at Ruben’s Department Store.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Ashmore is survived by her son, Steve Ashmore (Stacy); her daughter, Janice Burch (Jerome); her grandchildren, Erin Burch, Spenser Burch, and Matthew Ashmore; her sisters, Lillian Tankersley, Dorothy Brown, Nannette Tankersley (Robert); and by her special caregivers, Mary Lennell Boyd, and Earline Morton.
