Michele Yvonne Rock

Evans, GA – Michele Yvonne Rock, 53, entered into rest on Sunday, March 15, 2015.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Rd. Chapel with Rev. Wayne Cheselka officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Michele was an extraordinary person and dedicated her entire career to helping others. She was a Licensed Nurse Practitioner and the Unit Manager of NICU at Children’s Hospital of Georgia. She was the Director of Occupational Health Services at GRU Health Campus, the Director of Nursing at Washington Wilkes Hospital, the Director of the Bariatric Clinic at Trinity Hospital, and most recently taught Nursing at Augusta Technical College. Michele loved being a nurse and was an advocate for other nurses as well as patients. She loved her family and was excited about creating her home with Greg. Michele loved to sew, crochet, gardening, and visiting the mountains. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband and best friend Gregory Rock, three sons; Jeremy Rock, Brandon Rock, Justin Rock, grandsons; Donovan Rock and Jalen Rock, niece; Jenifer C. Chavez (Dennis), nephew; Brian Randall, great niece and nephew; Jackson Chavez and Julia Chavez, uncle; James Ricketts, brother in law; Ernest Randall (Lisa). Michele was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Mary Wallace, and her sister; Kathleen McGahee.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
