Mary Parker Powell

Evans – Mrs. Mary Ruth Parker Powell, 68, entered into rest on Friday, April 24, 2009 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 27, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel with the Rev. Wallace Hoyle officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Powell was a native of Forsyth, Georgia, and was a 1958 graduate of Mary Persons High School. She had retired from Maners Building Supply after 35 years of service.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Melanie and Kevin Murdock, her granddaughter, Claire Murdock, and her four sisters, Betty Jenkins, Jane Inglett, Anne Cook and Lillian Parker.

Pallbearers will be Robert McCrary, Chuck Mahaffey, Nat Dye, Ricky Lonergan, James Ball, and John Sample.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening, April, 26, 2009 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
