Mary F. Kilbourne

Mrs. Mary F. Kilbourne, 89, passed away peacefully at her home on June 15, 2017, in the arms of her loving husband, Harry, and children, Douglas and Deborah. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Ann. Mary Francis was the daughter of George and Mary (Bess) French of Narrows, Virginia. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Harriet, and two brothers, Pat and William. She is survived by her husband, a son, a daughter, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Mary earned her Bachelor Degree in chemistry from Berea College in Kentucky in 1948. She and Harry were married on June 1, 1948, and lived happily together until her demise 69 years later.

She was of the Methodist faith and served as children’s Sunday school coordinator in Methodist churches in Akron, Ohio and Des Peres, Missouri. In her spare time, she loved to swim, going to the beach, reading and working puzzles.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Wesley United Methodist Church at 825 North Belair Road, Evans, Georgia, 30809. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wesley Church Mission Fund.
