Mr. Marion “Buddy” Buck, 97, entered into rest on Friday, July 7, 2017 at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with the Rev. Linda Birchall officiating.
Mr. Buck was a veteran of World War II, where he landed on Normandy Beach D2, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a founding member of St. Mark UMC, as well as being a member of the Lions Club International, and a Mason for 50 years. A master plumber, he was the owner of Buck’s Plumbing and Heating, before working at Savannah River Plant. He retired from there as a supervisor.
He is survived by his daughters; Patricia Harris (Walter), Kathryn Ritz and Carolyn Moses (Michael). He is also survived by his five grandchildren, his three great grandchildren and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, his parents’ Marion and Mattie Buck, his brother, George Buck and his sisters, Helen Goodson and Barbara Cockrell.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, July 12, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
