Luvenia Lee

Martinez, GA – Luvenia Lyons Lee, 70, beloved wife of Marion Allyn Lee, entered into rest on Saturday September 6, 2008 at after a long bout with cancer.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday September 11, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father John Lyons celebrant. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park.

Lue was a native of Augusta, the daughter of Clarence and Novella Lyons, the sister of the late Claude Lyons and Jo Anne Lyons who preceded her in death.

She was the mother of four daughters, Dannette McClendis Miller of Martinez, Wanda (Phillip) Owens of Fairburn, GA, Lynda (Kerry) Richards of Acworth, GA, and Pamela (Adolphus) King of Evans. She is also survived by one sister Inez Willis of Augusta.

Mrs. Lee taught for the Richmond County Board of Education for several years but for most of their fifty years together she was a loving housewife and soul mate to her high school sweetheart. Lou was an ideal wife, mother, and grandmother of eight, always supportive with an upbeat personality.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday September 10, 2008 from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Rd.

The family wishes to thank the Doctors and staff at University Hospital, Doctors Hospital, Augusta Oncology, Odyssey Healthcare, and all who said a kind word or prayer, especially The Lucy Laney class of 56’ who were always there for her.

The family respectfully requests flowers be omitted and memorials be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2607 Lumpkin Rd., Augusta, GA 30906.
