Lee Roy Inglett

Lee Roy Inglett, 76, of Augusta, GA, passed away on September 14, 2023, with his family by his side.

He was born in Wrens, GA to Charlie and Inez Inglett on April 2, 1947. He married his bride of 53 years, Darlene Cox Inglett on December 19, 1970, in Augusta, GA. Before retiring, he was a textile machinist at Graniteville Mill for over 40 years.

More than anything, Lee Roy cherished being a husband, father and Poppy. He enjoyed working in the yard, drinking coffee on the porch with his granddaughters and he always looked forward to the annual beach trip with the family. His biggest joy was picking up his granddaughters from school and going to the gas station to get a snack.

Lee Roy is survived by his beloved wife, Darlene; daughters, Susan Inglett and Jennifer (Bryant) Wolf; sister, Betty Beasley; granddaughters, Ansleigh and Kayla Wolf and many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law to cherish his memory.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David Inglett, George “Danny” Inglett, Larry Chavous; sisters, Hazel Mooneyham, Jackie Brown, Martha Inglett and brother-in-law, Buddy Beasley.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Harrison, Lance McGee, Woody McGee, Chip Sturman, George Inglett and Eddie Inglett. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 17th from 2-4pm at Platt’s Funeral home in Evans. Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Brad Whitt of Abilene Baptist Church, will be held on Monday, September 18th at 2pm at Platt’s Funeral Home in Evans. Burial will immediately follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
