Laurence Brooks Dr. Green

Evans – Dr. Laurence “Brooks” Green, 66, beloved husband of Rhonda Pruitt Green, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 2, 2016.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel with Pastor Dave Willis officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the time of the service.

Dr. Green was a 1983 graduate of the Medical College of Georgia, and was the founder of Medical Weight Loss Center of Augusta. He was a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine. Dr. Green had an intense passion for both learning and teaching, which he incorporated into his personal and professional relationships. He was a talented encourager and coach for people aspiring for greater wellness, taking an interest in each patient as an individual. He challenged anyone he knew to be a thinker, to dig deeper and form an educated opinion. He truly had a beautiful mind.

In addition to his wife, Rhonda, Dr. Green is survived by his daughter, Malorie Globensky; son-in-law, Gavin; his grandson, Luke Globensky; a brother, Dr. Steven Green; and a sister, Dhetra Green. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Irving and Inez Brooks Green.
