Our heavenly Father has called back home one of his angels, and our precious son, Kewayne Mondrell Philpot. Our much anticipated Kewayne was born on August 11. He seemed the perfect present for his sister Riley’s first birthday, sharing the same date. Our excitement turned to sadness when Kewayne was diagnosed with Trisomy 13. The list of health complications that came with the diagnosis was overwhelming. But “Baby King” was not listening. He was a fighter. Overcoming the odds, he was discharged from the NICU and made it home for a few days. Smothered with love by his sisters and family, it was just not enough. Kewayne contracted a viral illness and it was just too much for his little body to fight. Surrounded by family, love, and prayers, Kewayne returned to the loving embrace of our eternal Father on Sunday December 9.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service time.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents; Dwayne Philpot and Rickia Hollingshed, his sisters; Shikena, Rylee and Christina Philpot, his grandmother; Claudine Hollingshed, his aunt; Santana Hollingshed, his uncles; Ricky Hollingshed and Willie Philpot, a great aunt; Theresa Philpot, his great grandmother, Betty Jackson, his cousins; Jamiah, Markayla and Leondre, many extended Philpot relatives, as well as numerous relatives in Illinois.
