Evans – Mr. John H. Schulz, 80, beloved husband of Kathleen R. Schulz, entered into rest on Thursday, March 26, 2015.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date at Brandon Wilde.
Mr. Schulz was a native of New York City. He received his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute, then went on to earn his Ph.D. in Pulp and Paper Science from the Institute of Paper Chemistry in Appleton, Wisconsin. He taught chemical engineering at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI before a long and successful career in the pulp and paper industry. He retired as an executive with Champion International in 1998 and continued to support the industry with significant contributions to ISO and TAPPI.
In addition to his wife, Kathleen, he is survived by his children: Elizabeth Miller (Jeffery) of Lanexa, Virginia; Susan Wright (Kirk) of Evans, Georgia; and Thomas Schulz (Cristine) of Roswell, Georgia; a sister, Dorothy McLinskey of Pearl River, New York, as well as eight grandchildren.
