Jeanette Averett

Augusta, GA – Mrs. Jeanette Averett, 92, went to her everlasting home on August 25, 2014. There to meet her was her husband, Louis Averett, and her momma and daddy, Bessie and Rena Sawyer.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 in Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Sherrell Dunn officiating.

Mrs. Averett was a lifelong resident of Richmond County. She was a member of Curtis Baptist Church and loved to attend the Happy 39’ers. Mrs. Averett worked for many years with JB White’s and Davidson’s in the Millinery Department and Estee Lauder. She was a member of the Women’s Business Association, enjoyed arranging fashion shows, and loved to wear hats.

Mrs. Averett is survived by her son, Michael E. Steed (Deadra); her daughters, Shannon Green (Jesse) and Karleen Nichols (Spike); her six grandchildren; and her seventeen great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Happy 39’ers group at Curtis Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, August 26, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
