James Willard Ansley

Augusta, GA – Mr. James Willard Ansley, 93, beloved husband of the late Dorothy Sims Ansley, entered into rest on Friday, April 08, 2016.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00PM on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel. Interment to follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

James Ansley was the finest of people. He lived his life with honor and the highest of morals. Mr. Ansley worked hard all his life. He enjoyed building homes and did so for each of his children. Mr. Ansley shared a very special love with his grandson, Bryan Hensley. They were always there for each other. Mr. Ansley served his country proudly for 20 years in the US Air Force and after retirement, returned to his hometown area and worked 20 years at Fort Gordon. He loved gardening and always planted plenty for all the neighbors. Mr. Ansley was truly a wonderful man who will be missed by all.

Mr. Ansley is survived by his sons, Curtis Ansley, and Douglas Ansley (Kathy); his daughter, Laura Ansley Clark (Scott); his brother-in-law, Bobby Sims (Sharon); and by his grandchildren, Bryan Hensley, Caroline Clark, Rollie Clark, Michael Ansley, Evan Ansley, and Savanna Ansley. In addition to his wife, Mr. Ansley was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Hensley.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening, April 9, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
