Jack Dorman Sims

Mr. Jack Dorman Sims, beloved husband of 60 years of Nancy S. Sims, went to be with the Lord on Friday evening, February 28, 2020.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 2, 2020 at Bellevue Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Carey Childrey officiating.

Mr. Sims was born in 1931 in Champaign, Illinois to Frank Lyle Sims and Nelle Etta Patterson. He graduated in 1948 from St. Elmo High School. He ran track and cross country there and in college at Eastern Illinois University. At college, he majored in chemistry and minored in math and physics. He went on to work as a chemist with the Coca Cola Company and retired after 41 years of service. He will be remembered as a gentle and kind husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is survived by his children; John Dorman Sims (Karen), Janie Alison Sims and Jill Andrea Forbess (Jeff) and his grandchildren; Charis Sims, Morgan Sims, Clay Sims, Joshua Forbess, Jacob Forbess and Julianna Forbess.
