Ivie Baggs Lee

Augusta, GA---Mrs. Ivie Baggs Lee, 91, entered into rest on Friday, December 26, 2008, at Kentwood Nursing Home.

Graveside services and interment will be held on Monday, December 29, 2008 at 11:30 am, at Westover Memorial Park with Reverend Paul Volpitto officiating.

Mrs. Lee was a native of Augusta and retired from Atlanta Gas Light Company, after 15 years of service. She was a former member of the Augusta Country Club and the Junior League of Augusta. She was a member of Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, James B. Lee, Jr., her parents, James A. Baggs and Hazel Henderson Baggs and four brothers, Charles H. Baggs, William H. Baggs, R. Edwin Baggs and James A. Baggs, Jr..

Survivors include, two sons, James B. Lee III and wife Gloria, of Dunwoody, GA and Robert B. “Bobby” Lee, of Augusta, two grandchildren, Mary Dorian Hutchinson and husband, Seth, of Gainesville, GA and James B. Lee IV, of Dunwoody, GA and one great grandson, Robert Braden Hutchinson.

The family wishes to express their grateful appreciation to the staff of Kentwood Nursing Home, her personal caregivers, Mary Francis Nabritt, Lillie Samuels, Sheryl Shaw and Kevin Flaherty, as well as Dr. George C. Pursley for their continuous and devoted care, to Mrs. Lee, during her illness.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 28, 2008, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at Platt’s Funeral Home, Crawford Avenue.
