Isabelle Riggins

July 4, 1924 — July 12, 2023

Isabelle Riggins, fell asleep in death on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at the Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home in Swainsboro, GA at the age of 99. She was born on July 4, 1924 to the late Jessie and Trudie Thomas in Wrightsville, GA.

She moved to the Detroit Michigan area as a toddler and later attended school in that area. This was the best move of her life because she met and married the love of her life, Charles Riggins on October 22, 1956 in Ferndale, Michigan. Charles and Isabelle were baptized on January 7, 1961 and they built their marriage on a rocklike foundation following the wise instructions given by the Creator of marriage, Jehovah God. They were married for 58 years happily and faithfully serving Jehovah by engaging in the full-time public ministry sharing the good news about a better world with anyone who would listen. Because of their love and dedication to preaching and teaching, they helped others become dedicated servants of Jehovah God and they became spiritual parents and spiritual grandparents.

She was employed as an Attendant Nurse for Clinton Valley Center. But her greatest joy came from her full time job as a Pioneer for 52 years. She considered it a privilege to go from house to house studying the Bible with others. Also, she worked as a volunteer assisting in the First Aid department at Conventions and other building projects using her skills to help others.

She balanced her hard work with a few hobbies to help her relax. She enjoyed gardening and watching things grow. Another favorite pastime was roller skating. She learned to roller skate at the age of 4. She and Charles enjoyed this together throughout their marriage.

Isabelle was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Riggins, and her parents Jessie and Trudie Thomas, brothers December (Margaret) Thomas, Freddie (Marion) Thomas, Carl Thomas, sisters Anna Jane (Robert) Turner, Beulah (Dale) Waite.

Isabelle is survived by one sister, Stellamae (Harold) Amos, and one brother, Ollie R. (Minnie) Thomas, cherished nieces and nephews, family, friends, and her many spiritual brothers and sisters.
