Houston "Bubba" Floyd J. Lirette

Houston “Bubba” Floyd Joseph Lirette, Jr., nicknamed “Honey”, entered into rest on November 3, 2021 with his family by his side.

Houston’s full life will be celebrated and remembered with a graveside service at 1:00 PM on Monday November 8, 2021 at Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. J. Andrew Menger officiating.

Houston was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 26, 1936 to Houston and Eunice Mae Lirette. Houston served twenty years in the United States Army and settled down in Augusta, GA after he and his beloved wife, Hilda, had their children Michael and Gabby. After retiring from his military career, Houston earned a Masters Degree from the University of South Carolina and dedicated yet another two decades of his life to serving his community as a social worker before officially retiring to spend time with his cherished family, who loved him dearly.

Houston is survived by his wife and partner of 62 years, Hilda Lirette, and their two children, Michael Lirette and Gabby Garrick (Todd).

Houston is also survived by his siblings, Sherrie Barber (Steve) and Kathleen Ussery (Thomas); and his grandchildren, Henry Garrick, Mary Lirette and Michael Lirette (Kristen).
