Homer E. “Skip” Fischer, Sr.

Appling, GA – Mr. Homer Eugene “Skip” Fischer, Sr., 81, beloved husband of Mrs. Wilhelmina Leonard Fischer, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 03, 2012 at Lake Crossing Health Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel with Rev. Greg Hatfield officiating. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Fischer was a member of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Fischer is survived by his children, Deborah Elaine Slicker (Kenneth) of McDonough, GA, Carol Anne Eubanks (Jeff) of Powder Springs, GA, Sherri Lynn Thompson of Grovetown, and Homer Eugene “Gene” Fischer, Jr. (Frances) of Martinez; his sisters, Margie Hemmer and Pearl Eschman; his brother, Jimmy Fischer; his 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Fischer was preceded in death by his 9 brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be David Slicker, Brian Eubanks, Jeremey Thompson, John Yelton, Patrick Fischer, and Garrett Fischer.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Lake Crossing for their loving care.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, January 4, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
