Guillermo Ong, age 83, entered into rest on Saturday, January 4, 2020.
Mr. Ong was born in Ginatilan, Cebu, Philippines to the late Gregorio Ong and Vidala Singco Ong. He had lived in the CSRA for 25 years where he was employed as an electrical engineer for Savannah River Site. The Ong’s are parishioners of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Mr. Ong enjoyed travelling and socializing- he never met a stranger. Working until the age of 79, he will be remembered for his strong work ethic in addition to the compassion and love he showed to those around him.
He is survived by his wife, Erlinda Ong; five children, Amy Goggans and Maria Ong, both of Texas, Gwendolyn Belongilot and Leiden Payumo, both of Atlanta; and Nino Balbuena of the Philippines; eight grandchildren; and a sister, Loretta Edgar of Florida.
A visitation will take place on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until 12 noon at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Road with a prayer vigil taking place in the chapel from 12 noon until 1:00 P.M. A funeral mass will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
