Gladys Van Ohsen Jackson

North Augusta, SC – Mrs. Gladys Van Ohsen Jackson, 95, beloved wife of 70 years of the late Charles E. Jackson, entered into rest on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at NHC Healthcare of North Augusta.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, December 2, 2013 in Westover Memorial Park with Dr. Sandra G. Kennedy officiating.

Mrs. Jackson was a lifelong resident of Augusta. She was a 1935 graduate of Tubman High School. Mrs. Jackson was a member of the first graduating class of Armstrong Junior College in Savannah and also attended Hurst Business School in Augusta. She was a lover of plants and rescued and cared for many animals. Although Mrs. Jackson had no children she was an adopted grandmother to many.

Mrs. Jackson was known as an avid prayer warrior watching over her neighborhood. For 30 years she diligently prayed also for her pastor, Dr. Sandra G. Kennedy. Mrs. Jackson loved her Lord and wanted everyone to know him.

She is survived by her second cousin, Mrs. Hilda McMillan of Beaufort, SC.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her parents, August and Myrtle Farris Von Ohsen.

The family would like to thank Dr. Lynch and the staff of the Jasmine wing at NHC Healthcare for their compassion and excellent care.
