Gertrude Trudy Shropshire

Augusta, GA – Mrs. Gertrude “Trudy” Weigel Shropshire, 78, beloved wife of the late SFC Ernest G. Shropshire entered into rest on Monday, April 16, 2012.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with Chaplain Frankie May officiating. Interment to follow in Westover Memorial Park.

Trudy worked for 28 years until her retirement with K-Mart. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.

Trudy is survived by her daughters, Azalee Jordan of Augusta, Peggy Redfearn (Paul) of Martinez, and Cindy Shropshire of Aiken; her sister, Renate Greenlaw (James) of Auburn, KY; her four grandchildren, James Jordan (Paula), Austin Redfearn (Kim), Jason Pinion, and Stephanie Johnson (Patrick); and her five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be James Jordan, Jason Pinion, Austin Redfearn, Patrick Johnson, and Tyler Jordan.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, April 18, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
