Geraldine "Jerri" Stephens Lockhart

Geraldine “Jerri” Stephens Lockhart, age 76, of Hampton, Georgia (formerly Birmingham, Alabama) went to be with her heavenly father on Tuesday, February 7, 2023.

She graduated in 1964 from Ramsay High in Birmingham, Alabama. She worked for JC Penney both at the retail store and later the telephone center in customer service for over 20 years. After the phone center closed, she went on to work at Best Manufacturing and retired from Clipper Corporation as a Customer service Manager.

Jerri was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and her favorite, “Nana” to her much loved granddaughter.

Jerri married her love Larry Lockhart in July of 1969 and were married for 51 years until his death in November 2020.

Jerri is survived by her daughter, Sheri Lockhart Amenda, son in- law Jason Amenda, granddaughter, Emily Amenda. Sister, Shirley Bailey, brother in-law Dr. George Bailey, Sister in-law and brother in-law, Shirley and Leonard Self, Nephew, Dwayne Self, niece Denise Henry (Tim) and two great nieces, Cassie Self Markham (Chris) and Savannah Henry.

She was proceeded in death by her loving husband Larry Wayne Lockhart. Her parents Eula Mae and S.T. Stephens. Her brother, Richard Stephens, and in-laws Charlie G. and Auster “Polly” Lockhart.

Funeral service will be held 2 PM (Central Time) Saturday February 11, 2023 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel 1591 Gadsden Highway, Birmingham, Alabama 35235 with Dr. James Auchmuty officiating.
