George J. Mr. Cawley

Augusta, GA---Mr. George J. Cawley, 61, entered into rest on Monday, July 16, 2012 at University Hospital, following a battle with cancer.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, July 20, 2012 at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Father Scott Winchel as celebrant.
The world has lost a man with a wonderful sense of humor, who loved music and was a talented guitar player. George was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta and was a member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church. He was employed at Ft Gordon since 1986.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Barbara Cawley , beloved dogs, Meggie and Jack Flash, children, Scott Cawley, Kim Cawley Hayes, Waylon Cawley, George Cawley III and Taylor Cawley, nine grandchildren and his sister, Charlotte Cawley Rachels.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 19, 2012, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at Platt’s Crawford Avenue.
