Evans, GA - Evelyn W. Loo, wife of the late Charles W.C. Loo, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2014. She is survived by her daughter, Paige Loo Tom (Gary), her son, Bradford Loo (Song) and two granddaughters, Rachel Tom and Chloe Loo. Her granddaughters were the light of her life.
Mrs. Loo’s siblings include brothers James E. Woo (Bess), the late Eugene Woo Jr. (Lynne) both of Augusta, Georgia and sisters, Ellen W. Dong (Yick) of Augusta, Georgia and Emily W. Takeuchi (Roy) of Stockton, California and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Loo was born in Augusta, Georgia in 1928 and graduated from Tubman High School (1946) and the University of Georgia (Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education, 1951). Her career as a Registered Nurse began at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta continued to Talmadge Memorial Hospital in Augusta then to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Mrs. Loo completed her nursing career working in public health with the DeKalb County Health Department in Atlanta for 20 years, until she retired at the age of 78. Mrs. Loo was a long time member of Buckhead Baptist Church in Atlanta teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and serving on many church committees.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Platt's Funeral Home 337 North Belair Road in Evans, GA from 6:00pm - 8:00pm followed by a memorial service on Saturday, 11:00am, October 18, 2014 at the Platt's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
