Elizabeth Walton Mize

Evans, GA – Elizabeth Walton Mize, 88, loving wife of 67 years to Charles Ray Mize, Sr., entered into rest on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Augusta with Rev. Will Dyer and Dr. Jack Robinson officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

Elizabeth was born in Lincolnton, GA to the late James and Irene Walton. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Augusta, where she taught Sunday school, Training Union, and GA’s. Throughout her husband’s career, she and the family moved from various cities across the state of Georgia. Elizabeth always made sure they felt at home wherever they were living. She was a wonderful mother and a beautiful wife. Elizabeth enjoyed supporting her family in all they did.

In addition to her husband, survivors include her children; Col. Charles R. Mize, Jr. USMC Ret. (Joy) of Martinez, GA, Leisa Mize Hudson (Jack) of Martinez, GA, Larry Hogan Mize (Bonnie) of Columbus, GA, brother; Dr. Robert Ellis Walton (Peggy) of Orlando, FL, eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister; Frankie Walton Barton.
