Dorothy Saxon Mitchell

Augusta, GA – Mrs. Dorothy Saxon Mitchell, 89, beloved wife of the late Louie W. Mitchell, entered into rest on Thursday, April 12, 2012.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, April 16, 2012 at Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel. Interment to follow in Westover Memorial Park.

Mrs. Mitchell was a graduate of the All Girls Academy at Tubman High School. She is the daughter of the late George W. and Ruby E. Saxon. She is the daughter-in-law of the late Dr. and Mrs. Louie W. Mitchell.

Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her daughter, Florence M. Hare; her son, Michael L. Mitchell (Micky); her brother and sisters, Walter Walker of Cayce, SC, Marjorie Smith of Lafayette, CO, and Martha Smith of Augusta; her 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mitchell was the sweetest, kindest, and most graceful lady. She was the strength and core of her family and will be deeply missed.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening, April 15, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
