Donna Perkins Leblanc

d. July 8, 2010

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” Psalm 116:15

Martinez, Ga.- Donna Perkins LeBlanc was welcomed home on July 8, 2010. Donna was a caring, devoted wife and loving, nurturing mother. She had an infectious smile, a quit wit and an exceptional sense of humor. Known for her kind heart, she was a long-time follower of Christ. Her sweet disposition and her love of the Lord were evident to all of those whom knew and loved her. A faithful member of Grace Baptist Church in Evans, GA, she served in various ministries for many years.

At family gatherings, she was often asked to bring her delicious egg & cheese salad and deviled eggs. She also made amazing chocolate-chip oatmeal cookies. She adored her family and cherished time spent with her grandchildren. Born in Augusta, Georgia, Donna was a life-long Augusta native. She enjoyed traveling, but to her, there was no place like home. Her home was in Martinez, Georgia.

A graduate of Augusta College, she impacted the lives of hundreds of young people in Columbia County as an educator. A Literature and Grammar teacher, Donna was a stickler for correct grammar and encouraged the love of reading in her home. She retired from the Columbia County School System after 26 years of faithful service.

Her passion for African Violets yielded a large collection of beautiful plants, over which she doted. She had a heart for animals of all kinds and rescued many dogs and cats over her lifetime. She nurtured and cared for them and now leaves two dogs, Pansy and Olivia, in the care of her husband.

She joins her beloved mother, Edith Hankinson Perkins. She leaves, for now, her husband, Eddie LeBlanc, her daughter, Kelley Dortch Kryshtalowych, granddaughters Sofia and Maya and her son-in-law Chris Kryshtalowych. She is also leaves two loving stepsons Lee LeBlanc and his daughter, Nicole and Brian LeBlanc and his son, Collin; her father, William T. Perkins and two sisters, Tina Perkins Neitzke and Valerie Perkins Robinson.

Donna was dearly, dearly loved by many and will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers per her wishes, donations can be made to the CSRA Humane Society or Grace Baptist Church of Evans, in Donna’s memory.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, July 9, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Hilley officiating. Burial will follow at Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery.
