Dale Villemain

August 5, 1955 — March 16, 2023

Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Dale Alan Villemain, 67, entered into rest on March 16, 2023.

Dale was born August 5, 1955 in Augusta to the late Milton and Dora Villemain. He was raised in beautiful North Augusta, SC where he attended Our Lady of Peace School.

In 1973, Dale graduated Aquinas High School and attended Augusta College before marrying his high school sweetheart, Melanie Martin, in 1976. He devoted 40 years of service to his clients and colleagues at Allstate Insurance where he treated them like family.

Dale was a dedicated volunteer to numerous organizations, including 40 years at the Augusta National Golf Club for the Masters Tournament, and several years at Sage Valley and The Greenbrier golf tournaments. He was past president of the Martinez-Evans Jaycees, past president of the Augusta Bulldog Club and during his short lifetime, he donated 22 gallons of blood to Shepeard Community Blood Center.

Dale was a football season ticket holder and fierce fan of the Georgia Bulldogs. When he wasn’t cheering on the Dawgs, he could often be found on the golf course or at the poker table. He enjoyed cruising on the lake and the ocean with his family and friends.

Dale would tell you his greatest achievement in life was his family. A devoted husband, he was married to his best friend for 47 years, sharing every life experience together. He never missed an opportunity to tell others about his two children and all they have accomplished. Papa Dale loved attending his grandkids’ soccer games, swim meets, dance recitals, cheerleading events and more, cheering on his grandkids with even more passion than his Dawgs. He was a deeply proud American who fervently loved his country. Dale was humble, generous, kind, outgoing, and a friend to all.

Survivors include his wife, Melanie; two children: April (Brian) Nunnallee and Scott (Jessica) Villemain; six grandchildren: Brice Nunnallee, Hudson Villemain, Kate Nunnallee, Blakely Villemain, Pearl Villemain, and Ellis Villemain; siblings: Janet (Ivon) Pires, Dennis (Rosemary) Villemain, Paula (Ray) Parker, and Gina Villemain; along with many more family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a lifesaving or monetary donation to Shepeard Community Blood Center. Donations can also be made in Dale’s memory to the Evans High School CTAE Advisory Board Scholarship fund.

A memorial service will be conducted Monday, March 20 at 4:00pm at Platt’s Funeral Home on North Belair Road. Visitation will follow from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.
