Charles Donald West

Mr. Charles Donald West, beloved husband of 56 years of Silvia West, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Mr. West served 22 years in the US Army, at one time attached to Special Operations Command 75th Ranger Battalion "Merril's Marauders" and retired as a Military Police CID Agent. During that time , he was stationed in Korea twice, Japan, Okinawa, Germany and at Fort Ord and Fort Gordon. After retirement, he went to work for the Department of Defense as a special agent. He was an avid hunter and fisherman whose favorite pastime was fishing and hunting with his sons, spending time with his grandkids and loved his Georgia Bulldogs.

In addition to his wife, Silvia, he is survived by his sons, Dennis Charles West (Rhonda) and Mark Steven West (Rhonda), a brother, Harold West (Jennell), his sisters, Inez Calder (Bob) and Della Smith (Gil). He was a Opa to 5 Grandchildren, Allen West (Jeannette) Elise Colston (Wesley),Tyler West, Katelyn Cate and Garrett Laudon. He was a Great-Grandfather as well, to his two great grandchildren Isaac West and Wells Colston. He will be missed.
