Mr. Byron DeWayne Hall Sr, beloved husband of 51 years of June Watson Hall, entered into rest on Friday, March 13, 2020 at Stevens Park Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel. Dr. Jim King will officiate and Mr. Hall’s nephew, Randy Carver, will provide the music. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Hall, a native of Augusta, served his country with the Marine Corp Reserves, while working as a former contractor with the Augusta Chronicle. He was a practical joker, and loved spending time with his grandchildren, playing jokes and performing magic tricks. He was a hunter and fisherman and liked to gamble.
In addition to his wife, June, he is survived by his daughter, Michelle Pennington, his grandchildren; Amanda Hall, Robert Pennington Jr., and Madison Pennington, a brother, Howard P. Hall Jr. (Patsy), his sister, Velvet Hammonds (Butch) his brothers in law, Charles Nutt (Denise) and children, Kenneth Nutt (deceased) and Kevin Nutt , and Raymond E. Watson (Florence) and children, Raymond E. Watson III (Crystal) and Deborah James (Mike) and a sister in law, Patricia Bevill, (Kevin) and her children, Brandon Moore, Lacey Bevill and Kevin Bevill Jr.
He was preceded in death by a son, Byron DeWayne Hall Jr. and a sister, Elaine Whisenhunt.
The family would like to thank the staff of Affinis Hospice and in particular Jessica, Kitty, Lee, Susan, Mr. Jim and Kay.
