Augusta, GA – Bruce Carlton Johnson, Sr., 93, husband of the late Lee Evelyn Strange Johnson, entered into rest on Friday, December 31, 2010.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, January 3, 2011 at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Bobby Smith and Rev. Ben Woodward officiating.

Mr. Johnson was born in Stellaville, GA to the late Wilson Hawes Johnson and Cora Belle Lee Swann. He was a deacon and longtime member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. Mr. Johnson retired from the Swift Co. after 40 years of service.

Survivors include his daughter, Carldeen Woodward and husband Bill, their children, Bill Woodward, Jr. and wife Julie, Brad Woodward and wife Amiee, Ben Woodward and wife Shawna, daughter, Janice Hinton and the late Charles Hinton, their son, Nelson Hinton and wife Misty, son, Bruce Johnson, Jr. and wife Mary Anne, their children, Bruce Alvin Johnson and wife Amanda, Kathryn Evans and husband Nathan, Blake Johnson, daughter, Debbie Swearingen and husband Jim, their children, Jessica Boyd and husband Kurt, April Wheeler and husband Randy, Joseph Swearingen, 20 great grandchildren, Trevor Woodward, Emily Woodward, Reagan Woodward, Chapman Woodward, Braydon Woodward, Naomi Woodward, Eli Woodward, Leanna Woodward, Heather Hinton, Kaylene Hinton, Seth Hinton, Rebecca Hinton, Raleigh Hinton, Axzavyour Johnson, Cyandra Johnson, Kayla Boyd, Davis Boyd, Dawson Boyd, and Wyatt Wheeler.

The family will greet friends following the graveside service.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
